Stepping up to the Challenge!

Hollifield issued the challenge and Chad Porter stepped up to the plate and answered the call! Yes folks, Chad has generously agreed to pay for Tyber Creek, all the food, hotel and everyone's bar tab for the Reunion...What a guy! Thanks Chad, I'll be drinking double Crown and ginger's all night thanks to you. Instead of chicken fingers, I'm thinking Gulf shrimp and prime rib! Do I have a second?

Of course, I'm kidding but Chad has generously agreed to put the $150 deposit down for Tyber Creek (if anyone wants a new big screen, ask Hollifield for Chad's information, mine's being delivered next week). Thanks Chad, we all appreciate you shouldering this!!!

Now, in order to make this thing work and make sure he gets all his money back, we need a volunteer to be a Treasurer of sorts to take the money as it comes rolling in once we establish an amount. Other things that we are going to need volunteers for is for someone to head up the invitation list. This will entail getting all emails/mailing addresses for everyone and making sure that we are communicating with everyone. This is something that definitely needs to happen soon since we are down to 2 and 1/2 months and people will need to make plans. If you are interested in assuming any of these position, please let me, Hollifield or Leslie know ASAP. As mention previously, I'm going to be at the beach beginning this afternoon for the next week and do not anticipate being able to be reached unless I can find you in the bottom of a bottle so the other two may be best to contact.

I know that everyone is excited about this and there has been a lot of great ideas and discussion but the time has come for people to step up and shoulder some responsibility. These things don't just come together without a little work. I know everyone is busy with work, families and other obligations, but we are going to need some help to make this successful and a good time. Let us know if there is anything that you would be willing to assist with.

Thanks for everyone's help thus far and for any future help. Let's make sure Chad gets his money back, everything runs smoothly and we have a great 10 year reunion!

Hope everyone has a good Labor Day weekend and please keep those effected by Hurricane Katrina in your thoughts and prayers. If you can, make a donation of some form to a relief agency...every little bit helps.

The Verdict is In!!!

After several weeks of tossing ideas and dates back and forth, the final verdict is in! Unless Tyber Creek has already been booked, the official date of the CHS Class of 1995 10 year reunion will be November 26th (Thanksgiving weekend). Thanks for all the input that each of you provided. I know this date works better for some than for others, but this is going to be the case no matter what date is picked. Hopefully each of you will be able to make it, but if not, we will miss you. If you are making travel plans, I would hold off for another few days to make sure that Tyber Creek is available (Hollifield, get on it)! The person that travels the farthest gets to buy the first round of drinks (look forward to seeing you Shane).

Also, I would like to offer a big congratulations to Kimmy Lee and Heather Upton on the birth of their little girl, Bailey Ann. She was born on Friday, August 26 and weighed in at 5 lbs, 8 oz. and was 18 inches long (hope I got that right)...sounds like a keeper. Guess this means Kimmy is going to have to grow up!

Additionally, it was great to get together unexpectedly on Friday night with Hovis, Hollifield and Hoover down at the Lake! I had a great time. Hovis, hope you got your car and your keys on Sat. morning. I wasn't sure what to do with them, but I knew you'd figured it out or be left sitting on your porch. I think I speak for Hollifield when I ask, where the hell did you go?

Just in case any of you try to contact me via email later this week, I'm heading to the beach for a little R and R so I may or may not be checking email (more than likely not). I promise I'm not ignoring you (unless it's Adam) so just hang tight and I'll respond when it's convenient for me.

With the date being picked, I'm turning things over to Hollifield and whoever he wants to draft in order to get the details worked out! Thanks again for the input, feel free to respond in any way possible and let me know if there are things you would like for me to include in the main posts. Let's have some fun with this blog, after all, it wouldn't be right unless we were poking a little fun at each other.

Getting There

Just to give everyone an update, we are working to finaliaze a date for the reunion. As of right now, the two dates we are choosing between is November 12th and November 26th (Thanksgiving weekend). If you want to have input into which day the reunion is on, email me at bpayseur@thejacksongroup.com and let me know your choice. Basically, I'm doing this the old fashioned, democratic way....majority wins. I am setting the deadline at 5pm EST on this Friday so we can make the necessary arrangements.

On other fronts, congratulations to Hovis and JR Motorsports for their announcement yesterday. For those of you that don't know or don't follow it, this team has moved to Busch Series racing with Mark McFarland. Hovis, I'll be waiting on that free hat and those garage passes!

Guess I've goofed off enough for the day (at least thus far). Not all of us have it as easy as Hollifield. Some of us have to work for a living.

Keep the responses coming!!!

Let's get rolling

Glad everyone found the blog. There are a few names on there that I haven't seen in a while so it was great to hear from everyone. Glad to know Shane found the site, I wasn't sure if he knew how to operate a computer or not, but guess we found out.

Sounds like Tyber Creek is the place as of right now. The date is the biggest hold-up so we need to get that nailed down. I know we aren't going to be able to work around everyone's schedule so we need to figure out the best one. I'm flexible if I know in enough advance!

I don't know if anyone else is curious about how Hovis knows the steps are slippery, but I think it's worth reading about

By the way, I saw Marie yesterday and have to admit that she is pretty cute as a pregnant lady. I think it was the first time in over 10 years that her hair is actually the original color of red.

If there is anything that anyone wants me to include in these posts, please let me know and I'll try to include it when i can. Also, let me know how this is working for everyone so I can make it better.

Later,

Ben

Welcome

Welcome to the CHS Class of 95 Blog. I thought I would set this up and give everyone an opportunity to communicate this way since email can sometimes get filled up and some employers may not be happy about it.

Hopefully this will be a way for us to communicate with each other in a central location about the reunion and any other things that are going on. Please feel free to send the address to others in our class and even those that weren't.

This is the first of many to come. Add entries as you please. Look forward to seeing you all!
