The Verdict is In!!!
After several weeks of tossing ideas and dates back and forth, the final verdict is in! Unless Tyber Creek has already been booked, the official date of the CHS Class of 1995 10 year reunion will be November 26th (Thanksgiving weekend). Thanks for all the input that each of you provided. I know this date works better for some than for others, but this is going to be the case no matter what date is picked. Hopefully each of you will be able to make it, but if not, we will miss you. If you are making travel plans, I would hold off for another few days to make sure that Tyber Creek is available (Hollifield, get on it)! The person that travels the farthest gets to buy the first round of drinks (look forward to seeing you Shane).
Also, I would like to offer a big congratulations to Kimmy Lee and Heather Upton on the birth of their little girl, Bailey Ann. She was born on Friday, August 26 and weighed in at 5 lbs, 8 oz. and was 18 inches long (hope I got that right)...sounds like a keeper. Guess this means Kimmy is going to have to grow up!
Additionally, it was great to get together unexpectedly on Friday night with Hovis, Hollifield and Hoover down at the Lake! I had a great time. Hovis, hope you got your car and your keys on Sat. morning. I wasn't sure what to do with them, but I knew you'd figured it out or be left sitting on your porch. I think I speak for Hollifield when I ask, where the hell did you go?
Just in case any of you try to contact me via email later this week, I'm heading to the beach for a little R and R so I may or may not be checking email (more than likely not). I promise I'm not ignoring you (unless it's Adam) so just hang tight and I'll respond when it's convenient for me.
With the date being picked, I'm turning things over to Hollifield and whoever he wants to draft in order to get the details worked out! Thanks again for the input, feel free to respond in any way possible and let me know if there are things you would like for me to include in the main posts. Let's have some fun with this blog, after all, it wouldn't be right unless we were poking a little fun at each other.

Tyber Creek has put us in for November 26th. I suggest we only reserve the place for three hours (nobody has to leave afterwards, we just have to open up the floor to others). If we would like to add finger foods, we could probably keep the food cost under $250 with wings and maybe two other platters. Once we put down our deposit, we must provide a ONE-week cancelation notice should we decide to back out.
Here's what I need now:
$150 deposit from someone who's willing to take the risk!
What time do we want to reserve? We should probably make it 7-10pm or 8-11pm (since our budget is tight, we probably want people to eat beforehand).
As soon as we give them credit, cash or check, the amount will be charged and will only be returned should we cancel in time.
I told Tyber Creek we would put down a deposit within the next TWO days. Anybody want to be a hero?
FYI, I called Holiday Inn downtown to see if we could get a reduced rate. In order to get a reduced rate, we would need to block a minimum of 10 rooms and sign a contract. Liability for the contract, is that 50% of the block must be filled or the person who signs the contract will be responsible for payment of the remaining rooms (to total 50%). That means that if we block 10 rooms and only four get filled, someone is responsible for the fifth room.
The block will get us a rate of $79 for the night of November 26th. Once the block is filled with people staying the night, anyone else wanting a room will have to pay normal price.
I will continue to call other hotels in the area. Holiday Inn is the most convienient because it's in the middle of downtown within walking distance to everything (except Tyber Creek, which is a 5 minute cab ride). Plus, it will probably be the cheapest rate.
Do I have 10 definites on a hotel? If so, I might consider signing a contract for you yahoos!
